Didymaotus is a monotypic genus (only one species in the genus) in the Ice Plant family, Aizoaceae. The generic name is taken from the Greek word "didymos", meaning "double", and "aotus", meaning "flower" – the plant that bears two flowers. The genus occurs in the winter rainfall Tanqua Karoo in the Western Cape Province, South Africa.
