Haworthia wittebergensis is a small succulent that forms stemless, slowly proliferous rosettes of slender grey‑green to purplish-green…
Meaning: Of or from Witteberge
Derivation: Compound of two words, "witteberge" and the Latin suffix "-ensis," meaning "of or from a place." The word "Witteberge" refers to Witteberg, also known as Witteberge, a South African mountain range just off the southwest corner of Lesotho.
Whereas the generic name must be unique, there are often two or more genera with the same specific epithet. The same epithet can also be used within a species for subspecies, varieties, forms, and cultivars.
